Victoria Monet is a whole Moment

Dear Reader,

If you haven't experienced the song Moment by Victoria Monet you are depriving yourself of a transcendental experience. This masterpiece is sexy, feminine, empowering and dripping with innuendo. In today's post we shall focus on the music video and lyrics together.

The music video is just over 3 minutes, enough to drawn you in and leave you wanting more. We have a subtle yet haunting instrumental to set up the scene and visually we are submerged in this tropical oasis, a handsome black man at its center mesmerized by that of this green parakeet.

It doesn't take long before Ms. Monet begins her first opening chords, sweet and melodic, as she begins to fall into the scene, quite literally.

"I got a feeling that you, Brought me to you"

That opening line gives us the freedom to take the reigns. This song commands you to be fearless in your sexy, to step into this newfound confidence with no regrets. Which is exactly what we see happen between this couple, the cinematography creates an intimate space, as we get flashing moments of skin and caresses. There's a slow crescendo of sensuality as we break into the pre-chorus:

"So let me take away your pain, give me all of your emotions

Land it like a plane on my back if you can't hold it

Life is but a dream that you manifested slowly

So fuck a fantasy, this your motherfuckin' moment"

This song  gives me full Queen Akasha vibes played by the beautiful Aaliyah from the movie, Queen of the Damned. If you haven't seen that movie, I encourage you to check out this scene to see what I mean. What Queen Akasha and Victoria share here is the full embodiment of a woman that doesn't hide. A woman that is soft yet demanding but possesses an energy that feels like your being summoned by a siren of the sea. This song, this moment gives us a taste of what it means to have power as a Queen.

From intense moments of embrace to the sky view of a tropical forest, we're moving through time and space seamlessly. This music video has all the makings of an orgasm. It's a romantic ride of tender kisses and wanton hunger for pleasure. From the outside, this couple can't seem to get enough of each other,

There's nothing but fluid moment and paradise.

The lyrics begin to drive you deeper into this dream,

"Life is but a dream
Here we are inside of it, and you're inside of me"

You can't help but to dive into this woman. To soak her in because that is your soul purpose. To enjoy whatever she decides to give you, and in this age of self-love and body positivity this song needs to be in your playlist. Use it to manifest that love into your life, to be the main character in your story because honey, you deserve it. You deserve the opportunity to demand the love and desire you want without settling for less. Every woman deserves to be cherished. Just as this gorgeous man devours Victoria and it doesn't come without a cost. 😉

With that being said, please experience this song and video for yourself, from the vibrant visuals, to the cinematic shots, fluid transitions and the beautiful black love displayed, it's a moment you'll want to experience.

"Finally you can add this moment to your memory"

Dare to explore what your moment can be Dear Reader~

See you soon💚

  1. Me having Disney fever, I was thinking of Cinderella when I saw the quote "Life is but a dream", I don't know why haha. But if you think about it, she is Cinderella. She is Cinderella and just like the prince in the movie wanted to dances with her, the guy in the video wants all of her. I know Cinderella is a totally different vibe from being sexy but hey, I just turned 20 and finding myself sexy is a new experience for me. I'm still a child a heart.
