Dear Atlanta, A Travel Blog of Romantic Spaces

Dear Reader,

I often come here to encourage you to delve into the emotional and spiritual aspects of yourself or your partner that are unfamiliar. Today is no different, but this time I’d like to share an experience of my own that I hope will encourage you to explore not only your connection but places that encourage such energy.

This year, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a romantic weekend in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. I’m not new to the city but this experience was my first. In a city where the nightlife scene is so prominent and there’s constant commotion, is it possible to experience intimacy outside of your Airbnb or hotel room? Yes, absolutely.

I’d like to tell you of a special place called Cafe Intermezzos ☕

This quaint cafe claims to embody the essence of "the 300-year old European coffeehouse" as quoted on the site here. It does that and more with its extravagant decor and intimate lighting that prohibits anything louder than a whisper. I was so caught up in the ambience that I didn't take much pictures, but here are a few from Google so you can see what I mean.

From the initial step into this restaurant, I was awed by how warm and welcome I felt. There was soft jazz playing over our heads as conversational murmurs exploded around me. The atmosphere felt extremely open, and the customer service was phenomenal. I'm not sure if it's like that every night, but Intermezzo's held an energy that encouraged love in all forms. This energy, dear reader is something that is quite rare to find in a room full of people. This cafe felt magical and as we sat not even two feet from each other, it felt as though no one existed but us. The small candle burning in the middle of the table provided a soft glow against our faces as we sank into our corner of bliss.

The atmosphere is only a part of it as the food makes up the rest. As you can see in the picture above, Cafe Intermezzo's is the place to go for fine dining and late-night desserts. I recommend the Cookies & Cream Oreo cheesecake and the White Hot Chocolate DeLux. ❤  We tried something from every menu(dessert, beverage, dinner) and while we spent a little under $100, I assure you its worth it. Despite the many restaurants we visited, Cafe Intermezzo stole my heart and if your looking to spend quality time with your partner, this is the place to go.

I'd also like to mention the upbeat area of Atlantic Station.

This residential and commercial area provides more of a night on the town vibe. It's an open area where you can walk around and soak in the night-life. We spent that Saturday night hand-in-hand as a gentle night breeze flew through the air, white Christmas lights adorning all the trees. While it's not as quiet, Atlantic station breeds a giddy-like wonderment with all of its attractions. Atlanta is the place to eat so there's plenty of restaurants: from pub food, pizza, vegan to International and American.

Then we have the two main attractions: Bowlero and Regal Cinema. While I'm sure everyone has been to a movie theater, there sits a vibrant-colored piano next to the ticket station that encourages anyone to delight in their inner-Beethoven. The bowling alley doubles as an arcade and if your up for some fun & friendly competition, this place can produce those memories of gut-busting laughter and quick congratulatory kisses.

Overall, I encourage you to see what lies beneath Atlanta because it just might surprise you. The most romantic thing I can say about this city is its view.

We spent most of our weekend sitting on the porch as the sun rose and fell, ice cream or coffee in hand. In those moments, we had the most interesting of conversations where time didn't feel like it existed. If you stray away from Atlanta in its typical behavior you can experience all its southern charm.

Till then Dear Reader~

Good Night 💕

  1. The only time I've been to Atlanta was the fifty million times I had to drive through it to get home and back to school, so now I definitely need to take a trip there sometime. Also, not the Bowlero bowling alley! As someone who spent many nights in a Bowlero, it's impossible for me to associate it with anything romantic so props to you!

    1. Haha yes, take a moment to stop in and enjoy its rich culture and city life! Haha sorry to the smell of cigarettes, alcohol and other stuff, but the bowling alley was fun. Similar to the feeling of going to a fair, a good place to get away and have fun!
